Your personality’s Pantone and celebrating poetry
Pantones for personality, self-trust, and celebrating poetry
IN THE MARGINS
Self-trust is a huge challenge for me
It's intertwined with anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem/confidence, lack of boundaries, etc... y'know, all the fun shit lol
Movies that involve certain mental health challenges always scare me a bit because they hit too close to home - for a variety of reasons - but in relation to self-trust in that not being able to decipher truth from reality is terrifying to me. I love to daydream, don’t get me wrong, but that’s some Inception type construct of my own doing. So what do you do when there aren’t any external points that you can use for validation? How do you change your thoughts when your brain is precisely where the problem is? You’d think it would be easy to find your way out of a mental maze that YOU created… you’re the architect so you should have the map, right? And yet it’s not always that clear cut.
One of my on-going affirmations, mantras, whatever you want to call it is “love yourself” (shoutout to the BTS lovers haha). And part of that process is self-trust. So here’s to facing doubt, listening to my intuition, and reminding myself that building self-trust is a continual practice. The path of that practice means redefining my definition of trust: that sometimes it means believing in something, or someone *cough* myself *cough*, without cold hard facts, assurances, or evidence.
I could go down my philosophy “a priori vs empiricism” rabbit hole for days but I’ll spare you. Instead, here’s a post by Meghan Watson that stopped me mid-mindless scroll: "How To Develop Self Trust and Daily Affirmations".
ACCESSIBILITY
Gaming and Disability
The video game console Xbox, owned by Microsoft, released their Accessibility Guidelines (XAGs). What caught my attention is that they were developed in partnership with industry experts and members of the Gaming & Disability community. I'm all about designing WITH people, instead of FOR them.

Pantone Personality Chart
If Zodiac signs aren't your thing, maybe a "Pantone Personality" chart would be. The chart is based on birthdays and uses color theory (which is a discussion for another day) to give fun personality summaries. The original chart is in Japanese though but here's the English translation. You can use Google Translate to get it in other languages.
