ART & DESIGN
Loving Vincent
The Museum of Modern Art in New York City has a special ticket called "Quiet Mornings at MOMA". It gives a small number of people early morning access before the crowds. After managing to get a ticket, I stood in front of Van Gogh's "The Starry Night" until I lost track of time. The kinetic brush strokes left me wondering what it would look like animated. Well....
168 years after Vincent van Gogh was born, we’re still talking about him and his work. March 30th was his birthday and reminded me of this gem: the 2017 film “Loving Vincent” (view trailer). What makes it amazing? It’s the world’s first fully oil painted feature film. Every single one of the 65,000 frames of the film is an oil-painting hand-painted by 125 professional oil-painters. To top it off, all the characters in the film are performed by real actors. After you watch, check out the Making Of series.

Munch's Brushes Go Digital
Speaking of dope painters, Adobe worked with Oslo Munch museum to scan the actual, physical paintbrushes of Edvard Munch and digitally recreate them! Paint like this master by downloading the brushes!
Discover Fonts By Personality
From professional brand identity designers to people with a side hustle, picking a font for your business has as much to do with visuals as it does vibe. People often say they want a font to be a certain personality trait. Deciphering which fonts go for which traits can be a science but to make it easier, tools like Font Brief let you sort by brand attributes such as “serious” or “daring”.
Video Game Inside A Font
Fontemon is a game INSIDE a font that you play by typing letters on the keyboard. The creator cleverly used the script support feature of OpenType and even fake-dithered vectors to give them that classic bitmap video game look. You can download the font to play anywhere or play the web version in a browser. Check out a quick ‘designer’s explanation’.
